WHO WE ARE
& WHAT WE REPRESENT
At GBAMFS we stand for good games. We stand up for gamers. Our mission is to connect up for our common interest and make it ever better. Gaming is more than a hobby. For some of us it is a way of life! We want for gaming to remain true to its roots while it evolves.

Recently there have been a lot of changes in the world of gaming. Many of them are not for the better. Commercial fads like 'Loot boxes,' and micro-transactions dominate too many games. Online and in-game censorship pose restrictions on community input. These have become overbearing and noticeably worse lately.
Other examples are super-hyped supposed 'AAA' releases that have been serious, sorry and sometimes dramatic disappointments. Poor and sometimes beyond-absent but outright aggressive anti-Customer Service attitudes prevail in some companies' circles. This is not consumer-friendly, and not even a little bit acceptable simply because these outfits stoop to hiding behind the fact they're offering video games.

While some are released at full price and barely function, others seem engineered purely along the lines that they keep you fidgeting or goad you endlessly into spending more money. Many of us feel that while our bottom-dollar is often committed to gaming and gaming culture-purposes anyway, this abuse of our patience and affections is tacky if not outright criminal.

Ultimately it is up to us to work to change these practices and advocate for reform in the industry. Some of our activity is geared toward public education. Some on politics of gaming. Meanwhile our Society offers a dedicated uncensored forum to members and coordinates events.
We are interested in working with quality developers, publishers & market-platforms to highlight and feature games which may not get the attention they deserve! Our charitable wing the Gaming Brethren Advocates Mutual-aid Foundation will provide incentive and encouragement to promising indie developers.
Reload often; we're respawning sooner than you think!
